Home Depot launches two trade-in promotions

2/20/2018

In an effort to boost foot traffic and sales, Home Depot has kicked off its holiday season with two trade-in events. Its first-ever “Power Drill Trade In, Trade Up,” which runs Oct. 25 to Nov. 8, encourages customers to bring in their used or broken power drills and get 15% off a new lithium-ion drill. Home Depot will recycle the old drills.

On Nov. 5, the Atlanta retailer will begin its second annual “Eco Options Christmas Light Trade In” event. Customers can bring in their old working or non-working holiday light strings to be recycled and receive a $3 off coupon toward the purchase of energy-efficient seasonal light-emitting diodes (LED) string lights. Customers must purchase their new LED lights from Nov. 5 to Nov. 15 and are limited to five redemptions.

Both promotions will take place only at Home Depot’s U.S. stores.
