Home Depot gears up for annual hiring spree
Just days after Lowe's announced its own seasonal hiring spree, The Home Depot has opened up its ranks to more than 80,000 new employees.
"Spring is a great time to join The Home Depot, where you can work alongside a fun, energetic team that's passionate about the latest home improvement innovations and great customer service," said Tim Crow, executive VP human resources.
The open positions are for retail locations and distribution facilities, including sales associates, cashiers, and roles in operations and online order fulfillment.
Additionally, seasonal hires who become permanent associates can put their spring hours toward benefits such as the "Success Sharing" profit-sharing program, 401k match and tuition assistance.
Last but not least, Home Depot is doing things a bit differently this spring. Associates will be equipped with the latest incarnation of Home Depot's in-store mobile technology, the FIRST Phone. The phones help employees speed up the checkout process, conduct mobile check-outs anywhere on premises, locate products, check inventory, and look up product information.
