Home Depot Canada announces hiring push

2/18/2020
The Home Depot Canada announced that it is hiring more than 5,500 new associates across to support its spring season – the busiest season for the retailer.

In press release, the company said that it is seeking “enthusiastic applicants who are looking to join a winning team and who share its core values – like Respect for All People, Excellent Customer Service, and Giving Back.”

Full-time, part-time and seasonal positions are available, including overnight associates, sales associates, cashiers, lot associates, specialty associates and department supervisors, according to Home Depot Canada. To help associates get up to speed quickly, the retailer said it provides more than one million hours of training programs each year.

"Our team is built on a set of core values shared by four generations of associates working in our stores," says Jeff Kinnaird, president of Home Depot Canada. "We're proud of our diversity and the individual talent, skills and experience which strengthens our customer service and reflects the 182 communities we live and work in."

Home Depot Canada said that more than 75% percent of its store managers started as hourly associates. Eligible full and part-time employees have access to competitive benefits, including company-paid health and dental benefits, profit-sharing programs, tuition reimbursement and employee assistance programs.

Home Depot’s Canadian division operates 182 stores. Overall, Home Depot has more than 2,291 retail locations, including the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and Mexico.

Earlier this month, the Home Depot reported that it planned to hire 80,000 total new associates for the spring season.
