Home Channel News to launch comprehensive product directory
Home Channel News, in partnership with Edgenet Interactive, is poised to launch an extensive, richly featured buyers guide and product directory later this month.
Available at HCN’s Web site, www.homechannelnews.com , the new portal will feature hundreds of thousands of current products from more than 2,500 vendors in the home improvement/building materials space.
“Our intent is to strengthen our home channel community by providing buyers with a tool that will give them access to an unprecedented amount of product information,” said Jeff Arlen, publisher of Home Channel News. “We feel that our readers will find the portal an invaluable instrument that is complementary to the news and marketing information currently available on our Web site, newsletters and print publication.
“Buyers will be able to search by brand, keywords and product categories. The site will also allow merchants to contact vendors directly through the site. The portal will enable buyers to search the entire home channel universe from the convenience of their personal computers,” he added.
Edgenet provides the supplier product data that powers the sites and stores of leading retailers in the home improvement industry. With 600,000 products that contain 25 million attributes, Edgenet’s Big Hammer Data service enables retailers and suppliers to effectively and efficiently sell products in stores and online.
“For merchants, the Product Finder is an easy way to discover and compare new or alternative products. For suppliers, the Product Finder is the most efficient venue to showcase your products to a broad selection of merchants throughout the industry. When selecting a media partner for this program, Home Channel News was the obvious choice. They have developed a strong reputation with merchants and suppliers alike by providing relevant and timely information to the marketplace,” said Tim Stafford, senior vp-Edgenet Interactive.
Currently in beta testing, the HCN Buyers Guide and Product Directory is poised to come online by the end of February.
