Hitachi Power Tools announces corporate restructuring plan
The moves are expected to speed up corporate decisions as the tool maker transitions to a new brand name.
Hitachi Power Tools (Hitachi Koki USA), transitioning to the corporate name Koki Holdings America in October, has announced new executive appointments.
Hiro Yumoto, president and CEO of Hitachi Koki USA has been appointed chief strategy officer for Hitachi Koki Co, Ltd in Japan. The appointment is a new position created to oversee corporate strategy, branding strategy, and product management strategy, along with advertising and public relations, the company said.
Yumoto will simultaneously oversee the North America business for Hitachi Koki USA as they transition to the new Metabo HPT brand as announced earlier this month. In a statement, the company said that Hitachi Koki Co., is also moving to an officer-structured system.
Hitochi Chief Strategy Officer Hiro Yumoto, along with the company’s chief international business officer, a chief technology officer, and chief administrative officer – will report directly to the CEO Osami Maehara. The company also said that the restructuring plan is designed “to increase the velocity of operations and make clearer decisions in a timely manner.”
Hideki Fujii will now serve as the new CFO for operations in North America. Fuji previously served as CFO for Hitachi Koki Australia. Prior to then he worked in Holland for Carat International.
