Here's a smart misting system for air conditioners

The smart home movement has turned up a lot of connected-home solutions. Now there's one for air conditioners.

Mistbox is a smart misting system for air conditioners that's coming to Lowe's in late June.

Its main claim to fame is an ability to save up to 30% on cooling costs by boosting the efficiency of AC units. By spraying a fine mist to pre-cool outside air as it enters the unit, the air conditioner doesn't have to work as hard to cool the home.

It's also solar-powered, and features integrated Wi-Fi and a mobile app to manage and track usage and savings.

Built-in sensors detect the AC system, and an onboard CPU fully automates and optimizes the misting.
