Hearth & Home recalls gas fireplaces and stoves

Hearth & Home Technologies is recalling a number of its gas fireplaces, gas stoves, gas inserts and log sets, citing a tendency for the gas valve to leak.

The recall affects about 20,000 units of Heat-N-Glo, Heatilator, Outdoor Lifestyles and Quadra Fire products, which encompass both natural and propane gas indoor and outdoor fireplaces, stoves, inserts and log sets.

Hearth & Home Technologies is recalling a number of its gas fireplaces, gas stoves, gas inserts and log sets, citing a tendency for the gas valve to leak.

The recall affects about 20,000 units of Heat-N-Glo, Heatilator, Outdoor Lifestyles and Quadra Fire products, which encompass both natural and propane gas indoor and outdoor fireplaces, stoves, inserts and log sets.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is urging customers to immediately discontinue use of the products, to turn off the gas and contact the store they bought it from. A free inspection will be performed, as well as a free valve replacement provided if necessary.

Though the leaky gas valve poses a fire hazard, no incidents or injuries have been reported yet.
