HD Supply promotes HR head

Wholesale distributor HD Supply has announced the promotion of Margaret Newman to the position of senior vp-human resources for HD Supply.

Newman formerly served as vp-human resources for the company. With her new title, Newman’s responsibilities include overseeing employee relations issues, staffing and development, compensation, diversity management, talent assessment, as well as other duties.

Newman joined HD Supply in April 2007 and helped lead the company through the divestiture from Home Depot, creating a new benefits platform and annual enrollment process, according to a statement from the company. Newman also helped reorganize the company’s HR team to “better align with the new functional structure as an independent company.”

Prior to joining HD Supply, Newman held senior HR leadership roles at Conseco Insurance Group and Sears Roebuck and Co.
