Hancock Lumber ready for growth in Maine
Hancock Lumber announced that it has acquired 11 acres in Saco, Maine and plans to the use the property to build a state-of-the-art lumberyard and kitchen design showroom.
This site is the hub of continued economic development, is highly visible, and offers access to numerous destinations and corridors, including I-95, the company said.
This latest location will be the company’s 15th, adding to its existing network of lumberyards, kitchen design showrooms, eastern white pine sawmills, a truss manufacturing facility and its home office in Casco. Hancock expects the site to be fully operational by spring 2020.
In a statement, Hancock Lumber said that the Saco location will position the company to better serve all of its builders, remodelers and homeowners in southern Cumberland County and northern York County.
“Hancock Lumber has been working with builders and homeowners in the greater Saco community for decades – our focus continues to be Southern and Coastal Maine, so this new Saco location is a perfect fit,” said Kevin Hancock, Hancock Lumber president. “We aren’t trying to cover a state-wide or multi-state market. We are more interested in relationships, reinvestment, and excellence within the communities we already serve. Our new store will allow us to serve those clients even better and connect more broadly with the construction industry in the region.”
Hancock has about 550 employees been named as one of the “Best Places to Work in Maine” for 5-straight years.
All of Hancock’s locations are in Maine with the exception of its North Conway, N.H. yard and design center.
