Hammacher Schlemmer introduces leaf sweeper
Hammacher Schlemmer has come up with a Leaf Collecting Lawn Sweeper to eliminate the need for raking and stooping while collecting leaves this fall season.
The sweeper employs flexible plastic combs that spin as the sweeper is pushed forward, grabbing leaves, grass clippings and pine needles and pushing them into the collection hopper.
"It covers a 21"-wide swath and collects up to 26 gallons of leaves before it has to be emptied," explained Hammacher Schlemmer's general manager Fred Berns. "You can collect leaves, raise the adjustable comb height to avoid large twigs, and push the sweeper either to your leaf pile, compost bin, or to your curb to empty into yard waste bags as you prefer."
The sweeper can collect detritus from lawns, driveways, patios or walkways thanks to 10"-diameter wheels that roll effortlessly on grass or concrete.
Additionally, the nylon collection hopper lifts out of the tubular frame for easy emptying.
