Hamilton Building Supply names new president
Hamilton Building Supply announced that John Perna has returned to the New Jersey pro dealer and is serving as president and co-owner of the company.
Perna replaces president and CEO Keith Coleman who will now serve as chairman and co-owner of the company. Additionally, Coleman will also serve as president of Duration Moulding & Millwork, a subsidiary of Hamilton Building Supply that fabricates and distributes poly-ash mouldings, millwork and siding material nationwide.
Perna returns to Hamilton Building Supply after beginning his professional career at the company 11 years ago. He left Hamilton Building Supply in 2016 to pursue executive level positions in sales and operations management within the LBM industry.
In 2018, Perna received an MBA in Corporate Strategy from the Villanova School of Business.
“The opportunity to lead a company I know well and institute short and long term strategies for growth and continued success is very appealing to me,” said Perna. “Success will be defined by how well we leverage our value-added services, maintain closely-knit relationships with our customers and continuously serve our communities.”
Simultaneously, Coleman will transition his daily role to overseeing production, sales, and distribution of Duration Moulding & Millwork products. In development for nearly seven years, Duration Moulding & Millwork was awarded a registered trademark in July 2017.
“John’s return comes at a very opportune time for Hamilton and will allow me to concentrate more of my efforts specifically on Duration. Combined with both a talented executive team and seasoned associates, we’re well positioned for strong growth moving forward under John’s leadership,” said Coleman.
Hamilton Building Supply is an independent dealer of residential and commercial building materials. The company was founded in 1924 in Hamilton, N.J. and was purchased in 1967 by the Coleman family.
Based in Hamilton, the dealer supports a customer base throughout New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania and operates a secondary location in Newtown, Pa.
