Ferguson acquires HVAC company

Newport News, Va.-based Ferguson Enterprises has purchased the assets of SG Supply Co., a Calumet Park, Ill.supplier of plumbing products, water heaters, hydronic heating, and pipe, valves and fittings for plumbing and mechanical contractors. The purchase price of the transaction, reported by Industrial Distribution, was not disclosed.

Founded in 1959, SG Supply Co. has one of the largest single-site soil pipe inventories in the Midwest. SG Supply will continue to operate from its current location in Calumet Park, Ill., near the state border of Illinois and Indiana, and be led by Ferguson’s Chicago area general manager, Steve Speers.

This is the third 2011 acquisition for Ferguson, a division of London-based Wolseley. They announced the purchase of Summit Pipe and Supply in January and Louisiana Chemical Pipe, Valve & Fitting in August.
