Executive search: Lowe’s seeks merchant
Since Lowe’s announced a leadership realignment in May, a major position remains unfilled: chief merchant.
Back in May, the retailer’s leadership realignment created two groups -- a Customer Experience organization led by Gregory Bridgeford, and the Operations organization, led by Rick Damron. One position still missing is a chief merchant.
"A big part of what we did then was the new customer experience design that Bob Gfeller moved over to run, reporting to Greg,” said Lowe’s CEO Robert Niblock, during the company’s analyst and investor conference last week. “He's also continuing to help run merchandising as Greg is out looking for a chief merchant.”
The company’s search for the chief merchant continues. Bob Gfeller, customer experience design executive, fills the executive VP merchandising position on a temporary basis.
“A chief merchant is still a very key and critical part of the organizational design,” Niblock added.
Lowe’s is also seeking to fill the position of head of supply chain, to report to Damron in the Operations organization.
