Executive fallout at Home Depot
Home Depot executives George Sherman and Mike Buskey have been removed from the company's Web site identifying its senior leadership team.
Sherman was senior vp and president of home services (click HERE for article), and he reported to Marvin Ellison, executive vp-U.S. Stores.
Buskey was senior vp-human resources, U.S. store operations. He reported to Tim Crow, executive vp-human resources.
The company announced cutbacks Jan. 26, including a 10 percent reduction in the number of officers. The full list of titles affected has not been formally announced by the company.
The company's corporate-level cutbacks were announced along with the closing of the Expo Design Center division. While the restructuring affected a total of 7,000 positions, no customer-facing positions were eliminated from the company's core home centers.
While announcing the strategic restructuring, CEO Frank Blake explained that "a leaner organization has to start at the top."
The only other name missing from the company's leadership team Web page since the restructuring is Bruce Merino, former senior vp-merchandising services and president of Expo Design Center. Merino announced his retirement internally in early January.
