<p>A snow shovel with an edge — and an extra handle — is designed to make shoveling a lot easier.</p>
Makers of the Ergieshovel say traditional, straight-handled snow shovels are ill-designed for shoveling snow.
The Westfield, Mass.-based company’s answer: a second handle that extends from the first, positioned in such a way to provide ergonomic relief to the user.
The shovel is made in New England.
“Ergieshovel is ergonomically designed to reduce stress on the lower back, and to make shoveling easier and more comfortable,” the company says in its promotional material.
The shovel attracted a crowd at the recent True Value Reunion in Anaheim, Calif., and the company has also exhibited at the National Hardware Show, among other events.
