Engine Products Group sues EPA over E15

2/20/2018

A newly formed group comprised of automakers and engine manufacturers called the Engine Products group is suing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over its rule allowing the sale of E15 fuel, according to the ArgusLeader.com.

According to the article, the group is claiming the blend could damage the engines of boats, older cars and carbureted equipment such as chain saws. They also said it potentially opens manufacturers to liability lawsuits and that the waiver violates the Clean Air Act.

The Engine Products Group is a coalition of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers, the National Marine Manufacturers Association and the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute.
