Electronics show toasts PicoBrew
An appliance that brews craft beer in the homeowners kitchen received recognition from an upcoming consumer electronics show.
PicoBrew was named a CES 2017 Innovation Awards Honoree in the Eco-Design and Sustainable Technologies product category. The Seattle-based company garnered accolades for PicoPaks, biodegradable ingredient packs designed to produce five liters of craft beer from breweries around the world and built for PicoBrew’s newest craft beer brewing appliance, the Pico.
“This award recognizes our commitment to building an environmentally conscious and leading-edge product,” said Bill Mitchell, CEO of PicoBrew. “We wanted to create an appliance that brings brewery-fresh, high-quality beer to any kitchen in an eco-friendly way. By using sugar husk to create the PicoPaks, we have set our product apart. After the completion of a brew, the PicoPaks are fully compostable.”
PicoBrew introduced its flagship product, the Zymatic automatic beer-brewing appliance for beer brewing professionals and homebrewers, in 2013.
