DuraLife debuts new railing lines
Merrimack and Nantucket expand DuraLife’s railing price points.
DuraLife, the composite decking and railing brand, has debuted its new Merrimack and Nantucket railing lines.
The new railing products complement the company’s composite decking line and create a suite of railing products in three different materials and price points.
“When it comes to selecting decking and railing, we want to make it easy for contractors and homeowners to find exactly what they’re looking for and at a price that works for them and their clients,” said Jim Poulin, national sales manager of Barrette Outdoor Living, the manufacturer of DuraLife decking. “We provide that choice with our decking - offering three unique deck board profiles in a variety of colors and price points. With the addition of the Nantucket and Merrimack Railing systems, we are now able to give contractors and homeowners multiple railing choices as well, in a variety of materials and at three different price points.”
The Merrimack Railing System is made of a non-wood PVC composite. Available in a bright white finish, the traditional classic railing design will complement any home style. Merrimack features a contoured top rail, a hidden fastening rail connection system and an innovative (optional) drink rail deck board adapter allowing contractors to easily match the top of the railing to any DuraLife decking color to create an elegant, cohesive design. The easy-to-install deck board adapter fits securely on top of the rail, creating a flat surface for deck board installation.
Made of a powdered-coated aluminum, an increasingly popular deck railing material, the new Nantucket Railing System pairs with contemporary and high-end architecturally designed homes. It is available in a matte black, matte bronze and matte white finish. To ensure durability, especially in seacoast installations, Nantucket has been tested to withstand salt spray, up to 10,000 hours. Screws are not required to attach the balusters (3/4”) to the rails (36” and 42” heights). Instead, an innovative, patented locking strip secures the balusters and rails together with a simple snap.
Like the new Merrimack system, Nantucket also offers an optional drink rail deck board adapter so that the top of the rail can be matched precisely to any DuraLife deck boards. The Nantucket system is available in 6’ and 8’ rail kits and a 6’ stair rail kit. The new railing features extruded posts with a matching pyramid-style post cap and collar and a flat top rail design.
The two new railing systems join DuraLife’s existing Rockport Railing System, a millwork-quality cellular PVC formulation with an aluminum-reinforced core for maximum strength and durability.
