Do it Best executive honored in Indiana Business Journal
David W. Dietz, chief financial officer at Do it Best, was one of three people recognized recently at the Indianapolis Business Journal’s CFO of the Year awards in the category of private companies with revenues of more than $250 million.
Dietz joined Do it Best in 1977 as an accounting supervisor and was promoted to CFO in 1987. Dietz has also held other executive level positions in the company’s sales and marketing and market development areas.
During his 30-plus year tenure with Do it Best, Dietz has played a role in growing the company from $300 million to $2.65 billion in annual sales, the co-op said. He also helped increase the company’s assets from $76 million to $763 million.
“In addition to his business skills, Dave’s character is what makes him such an asset to our leadership team,” says Bob Taylor, CEO of Do it Best. “He sets an example that trickles down through our organization by showing his genuine interest in others, giving generously of his own time and resources, and expecting no more from others than he does himself.”
Agraduate of Ball State University, Dietz is a long-time member and officer in the Fort Wayne, Ind., chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI). He is active in the CFO Roundtable for the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors and is on the board of directors for member insurance.
