DeWalt recalls framing nailers

2/20/2018

A voluntary recall by DeWalt Industrial Tools, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, has targeted two framing nailers because of safety concerns.

The two models being recalled, clipped head framing nailer (D51825) and full round head framing nailer (51850), were manufactured in Mexico and sold for about $280 at retail and wholesale outlets between January and September 2008.

The bump action trigger on the framing nailers could have been incorrectly assembled during production, which would allow the nailer to eject a fastener unexpectedly or cause the trigger lock-off not to function. This can pose a serious risk to the user or a bystander.

Consumers are advised to stop using the framing nailers immediately and contact DeWalt for instructions to receive a free replacement bump action trigger.
