David Weekley Homes recognizes ‘Partners of Choice’

7/25/2019
David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held home builder, has named the winners of its Partner of Choice Awards.

Now in its 15th year, the award recognizes suppliers that have operated at world-class levels through the year, as determined by the home builder’s supplier evaluation platform.

The comprehensive process, anchored by the National Trading Partner Survey, evaluates companies in the areas of quality, service, performance in reliability, communication, timeliness, follow-through and other areas critical to the business relationship.

“Our National Trading Partner Survey plays an important role in helping us deliver a world-class home buying experience to our customers,” said John Schiegg, director of supply chain services for David Weekley Homes. “This platform helps us to align with companies that share our commitment to providing quality products and services.”

Each year, David Weekley Homes presents the “A,A” Award to suppliers providing both exceptional quality and service, and the “A” Award recognizing excellence in either quality or service.

“A,A” Partners of Choice Award winners include:

  • A Better Blind

  • Amarr Garage Door

  • American Bath Group

  • Construction Solutions

  • Coronado Stone Products

  • DuPont Performance Building Solutions

  • James Hardie Building Products

  • Johns Manville

  • Louisiana Pacific

  • Owens Corning

  • Simpson Strong-Tie Company

Providers presented with “A” Awards for achievements in either quality or service include: Acme Brick Tile & Stone (Quality),  LiftMaster (Service), BSH Home Appliances Corporation (Quality), Moen (Service), and Strathmore Carpets (Service).

The National Trading Partner Survey is performed on a quarterly basis and is comprised of 12 questions that allow roughly 1,000 David Weekley Homes team members from all points of contact to rate areas of supplier performance on a 1-to-10 scale.

The evaluation process involves a comprehensive system of feedback and discussion that enables David Weekley Homes to measure world-class excellence among all established trade partners and their channel partners. Providers who receive the highest scores throughout the year are presented with the prestigious Partners of Choice Award.

“This survey allows us to evaluate the quality and service delivered by our providers and determine which ones offer the most value to our team members,” Schiegg said.

“Through the comprehensive feedback and mentorship aspects of our program, we’re also able to build better partnerships with our trade partners while positively impacting the entire home building industry.”

A total of 160 companies were evaluated this year with 10% achieving the highest “A,A” status.

“Simpson Strong-Tie has focused on providing exceptional products, quality and service for more than 60 years,” said Nate Johnston, vice president of builder sales for Simpson Strong-Tie. “It’s a true honor to receive David Weekley’s Partners of Choice award for 15 years in a row. The program pushes the entire industry to higher standards of Excellence.”

James Hardie, the world leader in fiber cement siding, is one of only three other companies to have earned this award numerous times. Over the last 13 years, James Hardie has won the "A,A" award 12 times and the "A" award once.

"At James Hardie, we strive to deliver durable, high quality products paired with best-in-class service for the David Weekley homebuyers and team members," said Johnny Cope, executive vice president of sales for James Hardie Building Products.
