Conn. issues lawn equipment “Cash for Clunkers”
Connecticut has developed a new cash incentive program to municipalities and schools that scrap their older high-pollution lawn mowers, leaf blowers and chainsaws, according to the Hartford Courant.
According to the article, the state will pay $0.80 on the dollar if the municipalities and schools purchase new lower pollution equipment. The state will be paying the municipalities out of a $500,000 judgment from 2003, and municipalities would have to compete for that money.
