Channellock names Jon DeArment president and COO
Family owned hand-tool supplier Channellock is keeping it in the family and promoting within its ranks, with Jonathan DeArment replacing his father William as the company's new president and COO.
Effective Oct. 1, 2014, DeArment will transition from his current role as VP manufacturing and engineering
"It is an honor to be appointed president of our family's business," Jon DeArment said. "I have always believed that great companies are made from great people and our workforce is our greatest asset. Without all of our 375 associates, we wouldn't be where we are today."
DeArment has nearly 20 years' experience with the company, during which time he's tried his hand at virtually every department, including maintenance, the machine shop, human resources, manufacturing, and sales and marketing.
"Over the last few years as vice president of manufacturing and engineering, Jon has demonstrated the type of leadership capability I believe can move Channellock forward," said William DeArment. "By continuously improving our initiatives and processes, Jon will position the company to become a world-class operation in a highly competitive, global business environment."
William, whom Jon will report to in his new role, will continue as the company's CEO and chairman.
Jon's brother Ryan DeArment (current VP sales and marketing), as well as secretary and treasurer Stephen Sada will report to Jon. Marc Johnston, director of workforce development, will continue to report to him as well.
