Central Garden & Pet appoints new execs

Walnut Creek, Calif.-based Central Garden & Pet Co. has announced the appointment of James V. Heim as president of business development. Succeeding Heim as president of the pet products division is Glen Fleischer.

"Central is fortunate to have two strong executives of the caliber of Mr. Heim and Mr. Fleischer," said William Brown, chairman and CEO. "By broadening and deepening our management team, we are further establishing a solid foundation for improved operational and financial results as we drive toward ‘on profile’ performance."

Previously, Fleischer worked at Kraft Foods/Nabisco, Bayer Consumer Health Care, Kimberly-Clark Corp. and Procter & Gamble.

Central Garden & Pet is a marketer and producer of branded products for the lawn and garden and pet supplies markets.
