Canfor names new board member
Canfor Corporation, the Vancouver, British Columbia-based forest products giant, announced that Dianne Watts has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.
“We are excited to have Dianne join our board and look forward to the experience, knowledge and fresh perspective that she will bring,” said Don Kayne, president and CEO of Canfor “She has demonstrated great leadership and will be a valuable addition to our board and our company.”
Watts served as a federal legislator in the Parliament of Canada from 2015 to 2017. Prior, Watts was elected mayor of Surrey, British Columbia in 2005 and held the position for 9 years. She also served as a city councilor in Surrey from 1996 to 2005.
“We are thrilled to have someone with Dianne’s experience join our team,” said Conrad Pinette, Chairman of Canfor Corporation. “She will be a tremendous asset to our board and I am confident she will make a positive impact on our company.”
Canfor’s operations include British Columbia and Alberta, Canada along with facilities in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Arkansas. The company primarily produces softwood lumber.
