Cameron Ashley continues to roll in 2019
Cameron Ashley Building Products continues to be one of the most dynamic industry companies in the early stages of 2019.
Formerly known as Guardian Building Products, Cameron Ashley announced the opening of two new distribution centers this week.
The latest location is in Rocky Mount, N.C., within an approximate 150-mile service radius. The facility will serve customers north to Richmond, Va., south to Wilmington, and west to Winston-Salem.
Cameron Ashley said the latest distribution center will provide sales and inventory support for continued growth in roofing, insulation, gypsum, and other building materials.
“We are pleased to continue serving our existing customers in North Carolina and look forward to expanding our service area to customers further north and east with the addition of this location,” said Regional Vice President Tom Gaffey.
Key suppliers stocked at this location will include CertainTeed Roofing, Knauf Insulation, Lapolla Spray Foam, Lomanco Vents, National Gypsum, QAP, TAMKO Roofing, Titanium/RhinoRoof, USG, and more.
“We are excited to open this facility in a market we’d previously exited,” said Distribution Center Manager Jack Nilsson. “We are looking forward to serving our customers more quickly and efficiently with this addition.”
As of Feb. 1, all incoming and outgoing deliveries and customer pickups will be serviced out of the new Rocky Mount facility.
Earlier this week Cameron Ashley also announced the arrival of a new distribution center in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. The new facility, with an approximate 150-mile service radius, replaces an existing facility in nearby Macedonia, Ohio.
“This new facility sets us up for future success,” said Regional Vice President Tom Gaffey.

“We are excited to be moving to a stand-alone facility, while continuing to serve our existing customers,” said Distribution Center Manager, Stacey Hanayik. “We are also poised to begin serving new customers in this market.”
The latest openings arrive as Cameron Ashely announced that it has acquired the assets of Warrior Building Products. Based in St. Louis, Mo., Warrior Building Products distributes roofing, fasteners, siding, insulation and decking.
Earlier this month, Guardian Building Products launched a new name and corporate identity as it transformed into Cameron Ashley Building Products, Inc. A new website address – cameronshleybp.com – has already been launched and a new logo will also soon be unveiled once Guardian legally changes its name to Cameron Ashley, the company said.
Based in Greenville, S.C., Cameron Ashley operates more than 30 distribution centers. This includes a total storage footprint of over 4.2 million square feet in 20 states in the Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast.
