Builders FirstSource to acquire Raney companies
Builders FirstSource plans to acquire the assets of Raney Components and Raney Construction, both of Groveland, Fla., about 30 miles from Orlando.
The deal is expected to close on Dec. 9.
In a letter to customers in the Raney market, Builders FirstSource said the businesses will be operated as Builders FirstSource, immediately following the closing. All current employees of Raney are expected to remain with the company following the transaction.
The letter also described Raney Construction President Buddy Raney, as an "industry innovator," and that he "will remain in place with responsibility over the vertically-integrated construction model."
Builders FirstSource's footprint extends to 77 of the top 100 U.S. metropolitan statistical areas. In its third fiscal quarter, the company acquired three truss manufacturing facilities in Arizona and Nevada.
