Black + Decker drums up a new battery

Black + Decker's newest battery, Smartech, is helping the brand get on the mobile connectivity bandwagon.

The Smartech battery uses Bluetooth technology to connect to the new Black + Decker mobile app, which allows users to keep track of their products, projects and messages.

In the My Products section of the app, users can not only view a list of their connected batteries, but they can also select and interact directly with an individual battery when in range. This includes an ability to enable or disable the battery, view the percent of the battery’s remaining charge, turn on the locate feature to find a missing battery, or activate the battery’s integrated USB port to power external devices, such as tablets and phones, connected via USB.

Additionally, all connected Smartech batteries can be monitored via the Messages section, where users can view all battery notifications.

Meanwhile, in the Projects section, users can access a variety of resources, including DIY ideas and inspiration, as well as tool recommendations and DIY tips.

Batteries featuring Smartech Technology will be compatible with all Black + Decker 20V MAX tools.
