Benjamin Moore brings small-batch artisanry to new Century paint line

Benjamin Moore has unveiled a paint line that's on a very different level than anything it's unveiled before.
Century is a top-shelf paint line that brings an artisan touch into the fold, produced only in small batches and boasting the industry's first buttery Soft Touch Matte finish (which feels like a soft leather glove to the touch, the company claims).
The formula isn't just about enhancing tactile sensation, however -- after all, most homeowners prefer to look at, and not touch, their walls. The colors themselves (75 of them, ranging from mid-tone to dark -- no whites) come in unusually deep and richly pigmented hues.
"Century was created for the finest of designs that require flawless execution and impeccable quality," said Harriette Martins, Benjamin Moore Senior Brand Manager. "The unmatched richness and color saturation, coupled with the tactile experience of Century, delivers a new dimension in paint unlike anything the design world has seen. With Century, color becomes an experience."
Century paint cans will all be pre-mixed and sealed to preserve the original integrity of the paint according to the manufacturer's intentions, and it'll be rolling out to a few select Benjamin Moore retailers, with more to follow in the coming months.
The Century paint line also comes with its own display booth to produce a consistent brand experience in every store: a sleek, modern white cabinet.
At $125/gallon, Century's price point certainly places it in the luxury tier of interior paints -- which is why it will largely be sold through retailers with a design-centric focus, the company said.
