Beacon scores another acquisition
Beacon Roofing Supply acquired Atlantic Building Products, a distributor of decking, windows, siding and related building products serving the busy Philadelphia area.
Founded in 2007 by Gary Spillane and Joseph Romano, Atlantic will provide new branches in Warminster and Quakertown, Pennsylvania, complementing Beacon’s strong presence in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.
The move follows a string of deals late last year, including a $1.1 billion deal to acquire Roofing Supply Group. In December, Beacon added RCI Roofing, RIS and Statewide Wholesale.
Terms of the Atlantic Building Products deal were not released. Paul Isabella, Beacon’s CEO and president, emphasized the strategic fit of the acquisition and the compatibility of the two companies.
"We are very excited that Atlantic has joined the Beacon family. Atlantic is a great company with a strong customer base and experienced employees,” said Isabella. “Combining Atlantic with our existing Philadelphia area branches gives us a more powerful footprint in the busy suburban Philadelphia market, where there is strong demand for complementary products.“
Atlantic’s Spillane will remain with the company.
"Teaming up with Beacon presents the best opportunity for Atlantic to grow and introduce new product lines to our customers,” he said.
