Atlantic Plywood expands into Midwest
Atlantic Plywood, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Parksite and the wholesale distributor of plywood and panel products, announced that it is expanding its business model into the Midwest with a select product mix.
The move is effective immediately and includes building products from Columbia Forest Products, ATI Decorative Laminates, Rehau, Knape & Vogt, Century Components, and Mirka Abrasives.
Parksite’s 125,000-square-foot Bolingbrook, Ill. distribution facility currently services the Surfaces and LBM product lines including, Corian Quartz, Corian Solid Surfaces, DuPont Tyvek, Deckorators, Crown Column and Versatex Trimboards.
With the expansion of Atlantic into the Bolingbrook facility, the company said that its sales associates will cross sell products to the existing customer base and develop relationships with new customers, while ramping up its product offerings.
“We consider this new location a monumental step in our growth,” said Marty Wojick, Atlantic Plywood vice president of sales. “Our commitment to providing the highest quality products, combined with our mission to deliver outstanding service, has earned our company the excellent reputation it holds today in the Northeast. We are confident we can expand the business model we have created over the last 45 years to a new customer base in the Midwest.”
Parksite acquired Atlantic Plywood Corporation, a distributor of industrial wood products and accessories in the Northeastern United States in January 2018. Atlantic Plywood distributes hardwood plywood and panel products with an emphasis on providing large and small woodworkers with service, inventory and knowledge at a competitive price. Founded in 1974, Atlantic Plywood operates 10 distribution facilities located in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and now Illinois.
“The purpose of the acquisition of Atlantic Plywood was to combine the resources of two great companies and expand into areas we couldn’t separately. Creating one company to deliver product solutions from industrial wood products, to premium surfacing materials to specialty building products will provide customers an unmatched resource in our markets”, stated Ron Heitzman, CEO of Parksite Inc. “This is the first of our planned expansions throughout our territories”.
Based in Batavia, Ill., Parksite is 100% employee-owned. With the acquisition of Atlantic Plywood, Parksite has 19 locations and over 650 employee-owners.
