Ashby Lumber, the Bay Area pro dealer with locations in Berkeley and Concord, Calif., has named Emily Morgan as its new chief executive officer.

Morgan is the third generation at Ashby Lumber and has over 16 years in the business. She began her career during her teenage years helping her mother and uncle around the lumber yard, the company said.

As a co‐owner and head of business development over the past 5 years, Morgan led the company through significant growth and changes.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Emily’s caliber and experience lead Ashby Lumber,” said Dan Easley, outgoing President of Ashby Lumber. “I know the Ashby Team will provide her the support to carry Ashby Lumber through the next 50 years.”

Easley, president of the company for the past 30 years, retired on March 10.

“I am honored and excited to be taking on the role of CEO,” Morgan said. “Our grandfather, my mother Kathy, and uncle Jeff loved Ashby and devoted their careers to making it the best place for customers to shop and for employees to work.”

“We consider it a huge accomplishment to make it to the third generation. There is pride in keeping a family business going,” she added.

Regarding Easley’s career at Ashby Lumber, Morgan said, “Dan has been a devoted and dedicated leader at Ashby Lumber for over 30 years. He did a remarkable job during his time with the company and we wish him nothing but the best in his retirement. I know that I speak for everyone at Ashby Lumber in thanking Dan for his leadership and tireless dedication to the company.”
