Around the Web: Lowe’s agrees to smaller store in Canada
The city of Kingston in Ontario, Canada, has just released the details of a compromise that will allow Lowe’s to build a new store on land zoned for industrial use, the Kingston Whig Standard reported today. The Mooresville, N.C., retailer has agreed to give up a 5,000-sq.-ft. building and associated parking and move the site to the southern portion of the property, immediately north of an existing Canadian Tire store.
Last year the Kingston city council rejected Lowe’s rezoning application, citing the need to preserve space for industrial uses.
