Appliance push for Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores
A new appliance assortment, signage, fixtures and interactive kiosks are being rolled out at 25 Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores locations.
Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores locations in more than 20 markets across the country have received a major appliance refresh and reset.
The store refresh includes a new product assortment, redesigned merchandising, new fixtures and signage, along with comprehensive employee training, among other changes, the company said.
About 25 locations in Alabama, Illinois, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin will host grand openings this week while unveiling the new merchandise assortment.
The new look features appliances occupying more than half of the sales floor and include more brands with an improved presentation. Brands include LG, GE, Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Samsung and Kenmore.
Regarding the new look at a location in Seabrook, N.H., Russ Bollhorst, a district manager of Sears Hometown Stores, said “Shoppers in Seabrook are in for a treat.”
“Our newly refreshed and remodeled store provides a broader assortment of products available from the top ten appliance brands, and our sales associates have undergone extensive training to become ‘America’s Appliance Experts.’ Through their expert certification, they are able to provide a wide range of knowledge on the latest features – quickly and efficiently fulfilling consumers’ appliance needs,” Bollhorst said.
The new floor plan also includes the ability to showcase complete kitchen packages through the addition of three kitchen vignettes. This allows the store to display an entire four-piece kitchen from multiple brands in a small amount of floor space, making it easier for customers to choose products, SHOS said.
Another new feature includes a designated laundry innovation area, showcasing multiple brands and innovations that let customers easily explore the differences between the product lines.
New additions include a touch-screen kiosk where customers can work with a salesperson or browse on their own to explore product options or make purchases. Through the kiosk associates and customers can review product features and benefits as well as various models from the entire online database of Sears products
The latest merchandising and appliance move is part of a system-wide refresh of all Sears Hometown Store locations. The Company began updating units in 2015 and now has more than 635 “America’s Appliance Experts” locations across the country.
Based in Hoffman Estates, Ill., Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores operate more than 900 locations in the United States, Puerto Rico and Bermuda.
