APA honors Jim Logan

12/8/2014

The APA-The Engineered Wood Association recognized the Metriguard president with a Bronson J. Lewis award at its Annual Meeting this year.

Jim Logan, owner and president of Pullman, Washington-based Metriguard Inc., was honored during the event in San Antonio, Texas, this past November, where APA chairman Tom Temple introduced him as "[a true] pioneer in the engineered wood products industry."

Logan and Metriguard have been a part of the engineered wood industry for 42 years, providing equipment to aid in the production and testing of lumber, veneer and panels.

The APA also credited Logan for his research work in the early 1970s, which helped advance methods of characterizing the structural properties of solid wood and wood composites.

The award, which is given out to those with notable leadership skills and contributions to the industry, is named after the APA's former secretary and EVP Bronson Lewis.
