Ames True Temper has a new name: The AMES Companies

Ames True Temper, a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation, has become The AMES Companies.

"While the company name has changed, our customers, suppliers and employees can rest assured that our manufacturing, sourcing and other core processes remain untouched," said Michael Sarrica, president of The AMES Companies. "The AMES Companies continue to offer a broad range of product categories that make work easier for homeowners and professionals, continuing a legacy the company has built upon for more than two centuries."  

The company's history and legacy, in addition to the brand's long-standing commitment to American manufacturing, helped reinforce the decision to change the corporate name. 

" 'AMES' has long been used as an informal, abbreviated company name, so officially changing the name minimizes certain brand identity confusion and also reinforces the AMES brand legacy," added Sarrica.

The AMES Companies provides lawn and garden tool offerings, professional jobsite tools, and outdoor lifestyle product categories under the brand names AMES, True Temper, Razor-Back Professional, Jackson Professional, Southern Patio, UnionTools, Dynamic Design, Garant, Westmix, Kelso and Northcote.
