American Standard launches self-cleaning toilet
American Standard's new ActiClean self-cleaning toilet does more than just flush. It also keeps itself clean.
According to American Standard, this eliminates the need for after-market add-on cleaning solutions that are often ineffective.
Additionally, the cleaning components are all hidden in the top tank for easy access via a flip-up door. The cleaning system can be activated at the user's discretion and locked for homes with small children.
"The innovative ActiClean toilet was created based on consumer research. We found that consumers are excited about the idea of owning a self-cleaning toilet," said Maha El Kharbotly, chief marketing officer for LIXIL Water Technology Americas. "Our incredible product, engineering and design teams rose to the challenge, taking the groundbreaking VorMax flushing technology a step further by adding a cleaning component, and creating a self-cleaning system that is simple to use and maintain."
To activate the system, the user presses the button for either a 1-minute Quick Clean or the 10-minute Deep Clean.
The cleaner is then released into the bowl, combined with VorMax jetted force flushing technology. After soaking in the bowl, the cleaner is siphoned out of the bowl automatically, which is then rinsed with clean water.
The bowl also features a CleanCurve Rim that omits the rim cavity and holes inside the bowl where dirt and buildup can get trapped and hide.
The tank and bowl are also topped with EverClean finish, which inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew on the surface.
