Ace store to open in renovated Des Moines mall

An Ace Hardware store will be one of the businesses to open this spring in the renovated Park Fair Mall in Des Moines, Iowa, the Des Moines Register reports.

The $2.5 million renovation project, which began at the end of 2007, includes the 12,500-square-foot Ace Hardware store, which will be next to a Blockbuster. According to a brochure by mall owner Denny Elwell Co., there are 71,546 households within five miles of the 58-year-old Park Fair Mall. The area’s median household income is $47,502.

Store officials say the Ace store is expected to open in the latter part of April.
