ABC recognizes two managers with Ken Hendricks Award

6/26/2019
Building and roofing products distributor ABC Supply has recognized two of its managers with the Ken Hendricks Award.

Honoring ABC co-founder Ken Hendricks, the award recognizes associates who exemplify the company’s core values.

The 2019 recipients are Mark Briggs, manager of ABC Supply’s Rocky Mountain District, and Chris Schrage, managing partner of the company’s West Allis, Wis. branch. Both were recognized at the company’s annual Founders’ Celebration picnic on June 20 at ABC Supply’s National Support Center in Beloit, Wis.

“Mark and Chris have demonstrated the character that is true to the Core Values that Ken championed,” said President and CEO Keith Rozolis. “Their drive both professionally and personally is contagious, and they are proof that every person has within themselves the ability to do great things, both at and away from work.”

Briggs began his career in the roofing industry in 1976. In 1987, he bought the roofing company that he was working for and continued running the business until 1994, when he and his wife, Kim, opened a waterproofing business. Mark joined ABC Supply in 1996 as manager of the company’s Lake Havasu City, Ariz. location. He was promoted to operations manager for the Rocky Mountain Region in 2001 and then to district manager in 2003.

The company said that Briggs is respected for his industry experience, thoughtful feedback and upbeat personality. He has also been recognized for the mentorship he provides associates as they look for innovative ways to help grow the company and the businesses of their contractor customers.

Schrage joined ABC Supply in 1984 when it acquired the company he was working for at the time. He started in sales, was promoted to assistant manager and eventually became manager of the Fond du Lac, Wis. branch in 1990. In 2000, he was offered the role of Midwest Region fleet and operations manager. After four years of traveling throughout the region, Schrage returned to a branch manager role at the West Allis, Wis. location.

ABC said that Schrage is respected for his passion for leading associates and giving back to his community. For over 25 years, he has supported a variety of charitable organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, the Milwaukee Hunger Task Force, and the Beacon House.

“These two deserving award recipients truly symbolize what ABC was built upon, proven by their accomplishments throughout the years,” added ABC Supply Chairman Diane Hendricks. “They are dedicated to preserving ABC’s Core Values and exemplify passion for their associates, customers and the communities in which they serve.”

Based in Beloit, ABC Supply operates more than 760 locations across the country.
