LInda Alvarado, CEO of Denver-based Alvarado Construction, and an owner of her hometown Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball, encourages the hardware and building supply industry to join her at the upcoming ProDealer Industry Summit, set for OCt. 8-10 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Alvarado will through out the first pitch, so to speak, with a keynote address on the morning of Oct. 9. She'll describe her career path, as well as the changing business climate for construction, as well as sports. Alvarado will impart more than 40 years of lessons on business leadership. She has pushed countless boundaries and shares the strategies that have helped make her company and baseball team successful.
"The Prodealer industry summit is an opportunity to network and share best practices, to increase sales and profitability of your company," she said. "Let's take our lumber and hit it out of the park."
Alvarado made history as the first Hispanic (male or female) owner of a Major League Baseball franchise. As an owner of the Colorado Rockies, her role is also significant as it marked the first time that any woman was involved in a bid for ownership of a Major League Baseball team.
Alvarado began business as a concrete contractor and was also the principal of a construction management firm that provided the full range of development and program management and construction management services from project concept through budget models, design, cost estimates, scheduling, construction phase, and project closeout.
