A new report tracks growth in shingles
The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association launches shipment report.
Shipments of asphalt roofing products increased 5.1% in the second quarter of 2018, compared to the second quarter of 2017.
That figure is from the first Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association Quarterly Product Shipment Report, covering asphalt roofing product shipments in the United States and Canada.
Asphalt shingles in Canada increased 22.2% in the year-over-year period.
ARMA will publicly release this report, which will include year-to-date shipment information and a comparison with the prior year’s data, on a quarterly basis.
“We’re aware that asphalt roofing data is relevant to several industries; that is why ARMA has decided to make this information accessible to the public,” noted ARMA’s executive VP Reed Hitchcock. “We see this report and future reports as a way of providing meaningful industry shipment information.”
Roofing product shipment data is collected from participating manufacturers by an independent third party, Association Research Inc., and aggregated to create this report.
