84 Lumber recognized by Associated Builders and Contractors

5/3/2019
84 Lumber has been named the 2018 Supplier of the Year by Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Pennsylvania (ABCWPA).

The pro dealer was chosen by members of the organization for this year’s honor and was recognized at ABCWPA’s Excellence in Construction Awards Banquet at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh on April 25.

“We are honored to present ABC of Western Pennsylvania’s 2018 Supplier of the Year award to 84 Lumber. The award is bestowed upon by their peers in the industry and recognizes that 84 Lumber exemplifies the following traits as a supplier in the Western Pennsylvania chapter: actively promotes ABC, our members, and our principles; completes work in a timely manner; is efficient with paperwork and correspondence; and exhibits quality workmanship throughout all stages of each project,” said Pete Gum, president of ABCWPA.

84 Lumber has been a member of ABCWPA for more than 20 years. In 2014, the company donated more than $28,000 in materials for the chapter’s new 6,000-square-foot office and training facility in Gibsonia, Pa. The donation earned 84 Lumber diamond-contributor status for the project.

Amy Criss, director of supplier diversity and WBE development for 84 Lumber, represents the company through her role on ABCWPA’s board of directors. She accepted the Supplier of the Year award on 84 Lumber’s behalf.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national construction industry trade association representing nearly 21,000 members.

Based in Eighty Four, Pa., 84 Lumber operates about 250 locations, component manufacturing plants, door and millwork shops, and engineered wood product centers in more than 30 states.
