84 Lumber names new VP of Engineered Wood Products
84 Lumber has named James Abbott as vice president of engineered wood products.
The move is effective this month with Abbott reporting to 84 Lumber Vice President of Installed Sales and Manufacturing, Ken Kucera. The pro dealer promoted Kucera to vice president in January.
Abbott is charged with growing the company’s EWP programs into new markets with new customers, the company said.
“Jim brings extensive knowledge and experience to 84 Lumber,” said Kucera. “We want to provide EWP programs and solutions to even more customers, both regionally and nationally, and we believe Abbott will be successful in doing that. We’re excited to have him on board.”
Abbott has 23 years of experience in the EWP industry including a variety of leadership roles with Boise Cascade and Louisiana Pacific.
84 Lumber, based in Eighty Four, Pa., said that Abbott “will leverage the momentum that dealer is already seeing to establish the company as the number one premier supplier of engineered wood products.”
“I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with 84 Lumber throughout my career, and I have experienced firsthand the drive and passion for performance that has made the company so successful,” said Abbott. “This new opportunity provides me the honor and privilege of becoming part of a team that I’ve grown very close to over the years, and I look forward to being a part of the future growth and success of the organization.”
84 Lumber operates 250 stores, component manufacturing plants, custom door shops, custom millwork shops and EWP centers in more than 30 states.
