84 Lumber honors its best
84 Lumber has recognized its top-performing associates who have made positive impacts within the company.
The pro dealer presented the honors at its annual awards banquet, held March 6 at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pa.
Mark Ingersoll, area manager in Georgia and Eastern Tennessee has been named Area Manager of the Year. This is the second time he has won the award. Ingersoll previously won the award while serving as an area manager in Florida.
Dan Jones, manager of the North Charlotte, N.C. store, has been recognized as Manager of the Year. Jones is celebrating his 30th year at 84 Lumber and this is his sixth time capturing Manager of the Year honors at the company. He was previously presented with the manager of the year award while leading locations in Toldeo, Ohio and five times at that North Charlotte location.
Joseph Payne, co-manager of 84 Lumber’s Lynchburg, Va. store, has been named Rookie of the Year. 84 Lumber said that Payne was selected from among the top four qualified candidates representing each division of the company. All top candidates were selected by their divisional vice president and interviewed by senior leadership at 84 Lumber team headquarters. Payne has demonstrated quick success and a strong commitment to 84 Lumber, the pro dealer said.
“Recognizing our dedicated associates and celebrating their achievements with our 84 family is something we look forward to every year,” said 84 Lumber Owner and President Maggie Hardy Knox. “These associates exemplify the values that our company was founded on, and I’m proud of their accomplishments and grateful for their dedication to making 84 Lumber the best in the industry.”
Other honorees included Manufacturing Manager of the Year, Buyer of the Year, Team Headquarters MVP and more. Various merit awards were also presented for best sales performance and improvement.
Based in Eighty Four, Pa., 84 Lumber operates more than 250 stores with 5,600 associates. IN 2020, the company is actively targeting new areas for growth, including new stores, component plants and engineered wood facilities.
