LIGNIA partners with North American distributors
Features of LIGNIA timber products include a Class A fire rating and 50-year warranty.
LIGNIA Wood Company, a global manufacturer of modified timber products for the construction industry, said that it is supporting its distribution partners during the COVID-19 crisis.
This includes agreements with National Wood Products along with Thompson Mahogany and East Teak Fine Hardwoods. LIGNIA also recently signed on with Hardwoods Specialty Products.
All distribution companies will stock LIGNIA, LIGNIA Fire, and in some cases LIGNIA Yacht.
“LIGNIA is so unique with the features and benefits it has to offer including a Class A fire rating,” said Howard Hughes, general manager at National Wood Products. “That coupled with the staff at LIGNIA, they are very customer service-centric and have a great understanding of the North American lumber industry.”
LIGNIA Fire carries a Class A ASTM-E 84 rated for flame retardancy, mitigating the need for after-market fire retardancy applications. Both LIGNIA and LIGNIA Fire offer a broader construction audience to build with a wood that can stand the test of time with a 50-year above ground warranty against rot and decay.
“We’re excited about LIGNIA and to have something new that the market doesn’t know about yet,” said Nathan Hascher, sales executive at Thompson Mahogany and East Teak. “It’s important to all divisions within our group of companies that we offer a high-end building material that can supply our various markets: raw lumber, machining and even finished product. Plus, the natural fire retardancy gives us a leg up, particularly for siding applications.”
LIGNIA is real wood made with legally sourced FSC-certified softwoods from managed plantations. After its modification process the wood, featuring high-durability and beauty, matches or exceeds the performance of tropical hardwoods.
“Teak is becoming more and more challenging to source all sizes needed for our variety of markets,” added Hascher. “However, LIGNIA will help us to fill the gaps in particular applications that allow and even grow our business in certain areas of the marine industry.”
“We could not be more excited to partner with LIGNIA and Lisa Ayala,” said Nick Smith, senior general manager at Hardwoods Specialty Products. “LIGNIA checks a lot of boxes for our customers across North America, including Class A fire rating, 50 year above ground warranty, desirable appearance, excellent working properties, and sustainability. LIGNIA dovetails in quite nicely with our current product mix, expertise, A&D efforts, and long-term strategies.”
LIGNIA and LIGNIA Fire are suitable for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications, including flooring, siding, decking, furniture, cabinetry and more.
“I’m so pleased to welcome and continue to work with our North American distributors, especially during this challenging time,” said Lisa Ayala, national sales manager in North America for LIGNIA. “They have embraced LIGNIA not only as a viable product offering for their customers but a forthright and sincere company to partner with. The market continues to demand wood products and we’re happy to accommodate.”
