MaterialsXchange joins NLBMDA Manufacturers and Services Council

12/12/2019
The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) announced today that MaterialsXchange (MX) is the newest member of the association’s Manufacturers and Services Council (MSC).

MaterialsXchange is an electronic marketplace for buying and selling raw materials. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the company seeks to foster the evolution of commerce in commodity raw materials by implementing innovative technology that completes the digital supply chain.

MX said its goal is to bring transparent pricing and user-friendly technology to commodity materials markets. The MX platform is an e-commerce marketplace that has the look and feel of a financial market, giving all participants market insight and the ability to easily place bids and offers in real-time.

The MSC is composed of the leading building material manufacturers and service providers serving the lumber and building material industry.

According to the NLBMDA, MSC members are industry leaders who supply products and services to lumber and building material dealers across the nation. The dedicated members of the council share a commitment to promoting and enhancing the success of independent lumber dealers.

MX officially launched its online trading platform at the end of October.

“We’re excited to be part of the MSC because of the potential to provide tangible benefits to the independent dealers the council serves,” said Mike Wisnefski, CEO of MaterialsXchange. “With the MX platform, dealers in the LBM industry can experience, for the first time, the technological efficiencies that other industries profit from. Using our technology, dealers benefit from significant time and cost savings.”
