The announcement comes in advance of Sons of Speed, Powered By Northern Tool + Equipment as it readies for its Oct. 15 race in New Smyrna Speedway at New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

The October race will feature riders all racing on pre-1950s motorcycles that are each expertly modified via customization to handlebars, exhaust, fenders, fuel and oil tanks, and more.

And there’s a big catch: the vintage bikes don’t have brakes.
