From the NAHB: The latest 2021 housing forecast

What’s ahead for housing, home builders and building materials in 2021?

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) tackles what might transpire this year in the latest Housing Developments podcast.

NAHB CEO Jerry Howard and Chief Lobbyist Jim Tobin are joined by NAHB Chief Economist Rob Dietz, who delivers his latest housing projections for this year.

At the most recent ProDealer Industry Summit held in October, Dietz forecasted single-family housing growth of 3% for 2021.

The economist also said that he expected housing starts in 2020 to finish 6% above the previous year.

Housing starts data for December 2020 and the final numbers for last year will be released on Jan. 21.
