Miller Lumber Company joins Kodiak Building Partners

Miller operates locations in Bend and Redmond, Ore.

Kodiak Building Partners has reached an agreement to acquire The Miller Lumber Company.

Miller Lumber was established in 1911 and is one of the oldest businesses in the Central Oregon region. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As third-generation owners of the company, Charley Miller will remain president of Miller Lumber, his brother Harry Miller will continue as vice president, and his sister Connie Marshall will remain the CFO. 

Charley and Harry have also elected to become a part of the Kodiak Building Partners ownership group.

Miller Lumber operates two traditional lumberyards in growing Bend and Redmond, Ore. that serves mostly contractors, with a key niche supplying commercial projects.

The Miller family took their time in seeking the perfect company with which to partner, Kodiak said. They were also pleased to learn about Kodiak’s culture of giving back to their communities, as it was important that Miller Lumber continue to do so. Miller Lumber supports over 70 area non-profit organizations each year.

The Millers are also confident that the future of their company and their team of over 20 employees would be secure and bright with Kodiak.

John Wagner at 1stWest Mergers and Acquisitions was the seller’s exclusive broker for this transaction.

Kodiak Building Partners operates 94 locations in 21 states. The Colorado-based company serves general contractors, home builders, sub-contractors, remodelers, and consumers.
