Metrie readying new facility in Toronto market

Metrie, the manufacturer and distributor of millwork solutions, is building a new manufacturing facility in Woodbridge, Ontario in the Toronto market.

The new mill is set to be fully operational by year-end and will include state-of-the-art technology that will enable Metrie to improve its millwork solutions. This includes the expanded production capability of its patented Metrie Complete product line, which makes it easier and faster to install pre-finished moulding and trim, the company said.

The opening of the new Toronto mill reflects Metrie’s commitment to being North America’s most trusted millwork supplier.

“The new Toronto location is our flagship manufacturing facility in the East. It is strategically designed to streamline our operations, improve efficiency, and reduce lead times,” said Bill Geofroy, vice president of manufacturing for Metrie. “The Metrie manufacturing team’s top priority is to service our customers with unparalleled dedication and exceptional quality.”

According to Geofroy, Toronto manufacturing will lead the way for the company’s customers and partners across eastern Canada and the United States.

Last month, Metrie announced it is adding a new "retail" distribution center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Founded in 1926, Metrie’s portfolio of locations includes 6 solid wood and MDF manufacturing facilities along with 28 distribution centers in the United States and Canada.
